Smoke Alarms
We install and replace smoke alarms, including interconnected systems where required. We can also check older alarms and help make sure the setup is suitable for your home ahead of the 2027 legislation changes.

Older switchboards weren’t designed for the amount of electrical equipment many homes use today. If you’re adding a smart meter, solar, batteries, air conditioning or other new loads, the board may need upgrading first. We can assess what’s already there and let you know what needs to change.

Pete started Proven Energy in Toowoomba in 2012, and electrical work has been part of what we do from the beginning.
Our electricians work across homes throughout Toowoomba and the Darling Downs, backed by the same local team that handles enquiries, scheduling and follow-up.

Common questions
Can you install appliances I’ve already purchased?
In most cases, yes. Send us the item details when you enquire so we can check what electrical work is required for the installation.
Do I receive any paperwork after electrical work is completed?
Yes. For applicable electrical work, we provide a Certificate of Compliance (COC) so you have a record that the work has been completed and tested correctly. It’s important documentation to keep with your property records, and can also matter for insurance, future electrical work or when selling your home.
What can complicate an everyday electrical job?
What looks simple from the outside can depend on what’s behind it. A ceiling fan needs suitable support, such as a joist or appropriate mounting point, and electrical work in bathrooms, kitchens and other wet areas has additional requirements around where fittings and powerpoints can be installed.
If the existing wiring, access or electrical setup changes what’s involved, we’ll explain it and provide an estimate before going further.
What other electrical work do you do?
Along with general household electrical work, Proven Energy installs solar, battery systems, EV chargers, air conditioning and larger electrical upgrades.
That also means if a job grows beyond a simple household electrical task, you don’t necessarily need to bring in another company to handle the next part.
