Power Bills
We don’t pay any power bills,’ that’s what I tell people when they ask me about my solar,” says Ian, “I never realised what a big deal that was until we had solar installed.”
Ian Thompson had a 10.8kw double array solar system installed in February 2018, with 8.2kw inverter, and he can’t be happier with his decision.
“When we had a family, it was the monkey on our back, that extra bill.”
“You’re always telling the kids to turn the lights off and you’re thinking about the power you’re using. We paid the power companies a lot over the years.”
Ian is now retired, and his wife will soon retire, too.
These days, Ian often has the air conditioner, fans, washing machine, and dishwasher running during the day, and he still receives a credit on his power bill.
When asked about how long it took to stop receiving power bills, Ian says it was fast.
“Less than six months and our power bills were gone – it’s a great investment.”
Ian worked as a plumber before his retirement and he can’t fault Proven Energy’s work.
“I’ve dealt with tradies all my life, and they can be very messy. With Peter, I never had to worry about that; he did a good job, and he left everything neat and tidy.”

From Sales, admin to installer, all parties involved were professional and helpful. The time between accepting quote and start of installation was alot quicker than expected, so no complaints there. The only negative point i have for the whole experience is the loss of power for six hours, due to the main fuse at the front of the property not being installed properly (as advised by energex). Proven energy were very apologetic and have offered to cover the bill if one is received, I will be referring Proven energy to other. For now, the proof is in the pudding.
